Breathable Royal 2.0 – with PrimaLoft® Bio™ The Breathable Royal 2.0 offers even more: Its filling is made from the innovative PrimaLoft® Bio™ fibre. It is made from 100% recycled material and has been developed to biodegrade faster than conventional polyester fibres under certain conditions. PrimaLoft® Bio™ combines a fine, soft fibre with pleasant sleeping comfort and a dry sleeping climate. The fibre was originally developed for demanding outdoor applications and has been adapted for use in our bedding products. Designed for the end of its useful life: PrimaLoft® Bio™ has been developed so that the polyester fibres can biodegrade more quickly under certain environmental conditions. Independent tests, for example, show 93.8% biodegradation within 646 days under accelerated landfill conditions. Under accelerated conditions in a marine environment, 76.6% biodegradation was achieved within 973 days. The results refer to the tested PrimaLoft® Bio™ fibre and the respective test conditions. Under normal use, the fibre remains stable and performs its intended function throughout its expected service life. Royal 2.0 therefore combines high sleeping comfort with innovative fibre technology designed for a long service life and reduced long-term persistence of plastic fibres in the environment. *PrimaLoft® Bio™ filling 93.8% biodegradation in 646 days under ASTM D5511 conditions (landfill environment); 88.5% biodegradation in 2313 days under ASTM D6691 conditions (marine/ocean environment); 85.5% biodegradation in 1213 days under ASTM D5210 conditions (wastewater environment); 88.1% biodegradation in 973 days under ASTM D5988 conditions (soil environment).
